Founded in 2021 and named after a traditional symbol of happiness, the Bluebird Quartet is comprised of violinists Katie Omundson and Mark Sanchez, violist Abigail Jennings, and cellist Travis Calvert. The quartet enjoys performing popular string quartet classics as well as discovering and sharing hidden gems from throughout the history of quartet repertoire.

 

The quartet has been coached by faculty at Texas Christian University and the Heartland Chamber Festival. Recent performances include recitals across Dallas-Fort Worth at TCU’s Van Cliburn Concert Hall, the Wedgwood Arts Concert series at St. Matthews Church, the Lenten mid-day concerts at St. Monica's Church, and a concert in support of the arts in DFW. In addition to performing as a quartet, the members each maintain busy teaching and concert schedules with regional and community orchestras.
